Renewable Energy Certificates

When you purchase a solar powered grid connect system, your power system generates Renewable Energy Certificates (REC's) under the Mandatory Renewable Target (MRET), under the Federal Renewable Energy (Electricity) Act 2000.

REC's are electronic certificates that represent:

For solar grid connect electricity systems installed after 31^st July 2005, 15 years of REC's can be created in a single up-front transaction. This is referred to as 15 years, defined value. The value is also dependant on where you live in Australia.
